Galactic Gemini

June theme song: “Pity Party,” Melanie Martinez

June mantra: “I think…”

Greetings, my Galactic Gemini babies! June is your solar return—happy, beautiful, bodacious birthday to most of you Galactic Gemini gangsters! I’m sending you all wishes of an amazing year with so much happiness and joy that your heart will swell with love.

As an air sign, you’re often floating in space, brain-wise: Your mantra is “I think…,” since every Galactic GeminiI know is always in their head! Without a Galactic Gemini we would not be able to see both sides of a story, because Geminis, the sign that represents the twins, have dual-sided personalities. When I see my Gemini friends, I often have to test at first to see which one I am dealing with that day. That’s no shade on you, Galactic Gemini, because, being a lunar Gemini myself, I sincerely do understand. Don’t frackle with the fickleness!

First and foremost, let’s start the month off right. Make plans to introduce new energies at the beginning of the month—if you’re looking at a new boo, now’s the time to make a move. The full moon on the ninth is like Play-Doh—it allows you to shape and mold the day to benefit you, however you want to sculpt it. And: The fifth house is highlighted for you in June, so if you’re looking to grow or change in the areas of family, sports, or creative work, the universe is fertile for you, so work it out, honeys! Love you, Galactic Gemini!

Caring Cancer

June theme song: “The House That Built Me,” Miranda Lambert

June mantra: “I feel…”

Happy, heavenly, harmonious birthday, Caring Cancers. I send you my unlimited wishes of supreme happiness for the remaining of your whole solar year, dear ones.

Caring Cancer is the water sign ruled by mysterious Momma Moon. The fullness of Momma Moon on the ninth of the month will allow you to realize something, but hold on to your emotions, Caring Cancer. The moon expresses emotions to their fullest, and your mantra, “I feel…,” can trap you. As you know, Caring Cancers will test people out to see if they’re worthy of their feelings, and if not, then they won’t bother with those people at all. They will mimic the crab, which represents Caring Cancer, by retreating back into their hard shell as if a person doesn’t exist, and do not make them mad, because they will snap your ass out.

You share the trait of needing a secure home and family with Taureans, but you are more nurturing in your home endeavors. A Caring Cancer wants to make sure a household’s emotional stability is good and everyone is fed. The spotlight is shining on your home sector this month. If you are looking to expand your family life with a new baby, in-law, or by moving into a larger home, this is the time to do it. The beginning of the month can make it happen with longevity. Make your Father’s Day active with the help of the sun in Gemini sextile on June 18. The new moon on June 23 will bring your fourth house of family matters forward again for wound-healing of some kind. If you need to fulfill a writing assignment or teach or take a class, the thirteenth would be the perfect day for it, with Mercury in Gemini placing in a special trine to Jupiter in Libra.

Let’s end all big, proposed plans on the day of the emerging summer solstice that takes place on June 21, because you want have the support of the planets, like you will at the beginning of the month.

Caring Cancer! Do you feel meget it?—when I say it’s going to be a joyous June?

Lustrous Leo

June theme song: “Pocketful of Sunshine,” Natasha Bedingfield

June mantra: “I will…”

Whatever my Lustrous Leos want, they will make it happen! Leo is a hot fire sign with a lot of pluses in the good looks department, hence the lustrous mane on the lion. The lion represents the Leo, and you don’t have to tell the Lion that he looks good, because it’s built into his DNA to already know it. You can always spot a Lustrous Leo, because they’re the life of the party who would never be caught holding up the wall. You’ll find them on the floor, constantly prompting everyone to bring their high crunk energy of, “Let’s get this party started right!” I’ll touch on some dates that are special for you, since it’s your time to bask in the golden parade of the strong sunlight.

June 9 brings on the full moon and the strong emotions that come with it. Plus, Jupiter goes direct on this day, too. This highlights your third house, which governs all forms of communications, information, education, and any sibling-related matters. More money may come in, because Jupiter is about expansion. June 13 will add sprinkles on top of your areas of communication and education, so save this date for the major bulk of it. June welcomes the summer solstice on June 21, so you Lustrous Leos will receive special treatment, since the sensational sun is your ruler. Flow lightly for the rest of the month, because all of your most favorable dates come prior to the 24th.

Sunshine always bring vivacious enthusiasm to life, and this is what June will be for you, Lustrous Leos.

Shamir is Shamir and remains Shamir through and through, no matter what the universe puts him through. You may know the singularly named artist (think—Madonna or Cher) from his 2015 debut hit record Rachet, beloved by NPR listeners and club kids alike. After quickly rising to underground fame with his Northtown EP in 2014, the DIY pop star made a sonic splash with Rachet’s lead single “On The Regular,” a poppy banger that had extensive commercial usage. But how to follow all that up? Shamir, who came from the dusty dunes of Las Vegas, to Brooklyn’s Silent Barn, to the Philly indie scene (and all over the world in between), wanted to go back to what had inspired him from the beginning. Outsider music, country & punk. Raw and vulnerable tunes, stripped down to their emotional core. 2017’s Revelations explored a new avenue of guitar driven hooky indie rock and was widely critically praised in the US and overseas.

Shamir’s most recent releases, the brilliant Room 7” on Father/Daughter, and his self-released limited edition album, Resolution, are pinnacles in the catalog of the increasingly fascinating artist’s career. Room and its b-side Caballero celebrate Shamir’s love of country music, while Resolution is a deeply introspective look into the fabric of society and the artists’ own mind.  With these two releases he has refined his craft exponentially and done so in less than six months from the release of Revelations.
