Very Virgo

Theme song: “Light the Sky,” Grace VanderWaal
Mantra: Sky’s the limit.

Happy divinely daring, definitive, beautiful birthday, with pure love beyond a blissful solar year. May the year continue to give you the gifts that will align your meeting your authentic self so you can live that Authentic life that you came here to live.

Very Virgo, I hope August has treated you well, especially with all of the planetary action that has come with Mercury in retrograde. Now that it’s direct, it’s time to push your goals out there but wait until mid-month to make sure Mercury has fully woken up. You’ll have no limits at this time other than the ones that you have placed upon yourself.

The twelfth house of hidden things, fears, and illusions is highlighted for you this month. Fears can get the best of you if you allow them to, so please release them. Whatever you have been working on behind the scenes is ready to enter the outside world without limitations. However, you are entitled to keep whatever you don’t want to share to yourself.

Have a multitude of magnificent seeds ready for the new moon in your sign on the nineteenth. Settle down from the hot summer to welcome in the cooler breeze of autumn. Here’s to a stupendous September for you, Very Virgo!

Leveled Libra

Theme song: “Love,” Lana Del Rey
Mantra: Feel only love.

Your eleventh house is the prime topic of the month for you, Leveled Libra. This is where your big dreams, social life, networking, and associated groups are located. You will be getting a lot of love in your social life, and some big dreams will find their foundation, as will a new group of friends or associations. The universe is acknowledging that this is your time.

Get your guns ready, but try not to pull the trigger until the middle of the month if you can, because it takes a moment for a retrograde planet like Mercury, which has just gone direct, to get its spin back to normal. I don’t want y’all regretting anything!

The neat new moon will take place on the nineteenth of the month, and Venus will bring about some romance. This will be an amazing time to get going with a new fall love, so plant those new moon seeds, as you might feel hope that your new love is The One! I think that would be the perfect way to end the month of September, Leveled Libra, and I’m sending you lots of love this month, too.

Shifting Scorpio

Theme song: “Grindin’,” Clipse
Mantra: Get on your grind.

Did August put some things into perspective for you, Shifting Scorpio? Did some things creep up on you that you were not expecting? I hope some of it segued to your career, because your tenth house of career will be more fully expressed for the month of September. Your paper will flow—money matters are looking nice for you, my transformative ones.

The rachet retrograde of murky Mercury reversed its backwards course on the fifth, but give it about a week or so before you make any big decisions or start something new. I know you will be busy with your career this month, Shifting Scorpio, but take out some time to honor the nurturing new moon by planning out any new goals and plans that you’d like to see take shape by the next voluptuous full moon.

The month of September is a tumultuous transformer because it assists with the parting of the summer season, then welcomes in the snuggly fall. Enjoy your entrance into the harvest season, Shifting Scorpio.

Savory Sagittarius

Theme song: “You Got It,” Star
Mantra: You got it.

Salutations, my Savory Sagittarius. Hope all was well in the month of August. Some of those energies will leak into this month, such as the end of the Mercury retrograde, and any new changes that the eclipse ushered in for you.

Whatever you want to do this month in terms of travel, learning, higher education, or spirituality, you can, because your ninth house supports these things. Meaningful Mercury has finally gotten back on track, so let’s solidify your new ideas and plans within the next week to make sure all that planetary smoke has cleared. The nineteenth’s new moon will help you execute your goals to your liking. Luna will be representing for you, so make your actions gorgeous, darlings! This will carry you into a happy harvest season. SMOOCHES!

Courageous Capricorn

Theme song: “Mysterious Ways,” U2
Mantra: Be mysterious.

Courageous Capricorn, your eighth house of sex, death, taxes, rebirth, and transformation is your main ruler right now. I can say this for sure: You are about to engage in some mind-blowing sex that will make you feel alive again and transform your soul to the point of thinking that you owe your partner some taxes, or at least feel that you may need to pay them something every month for the favor. Yes, I went there, LMAO!

The mystery of this month began to deepen on the fifth, thanks to the fullness of Sister Moon, who is notorious for all of her hidden elements. On this same day, Mercury went direct, but allow a week or so to pass before you get new plans rolling. I want you to make sure that all that backwards, stagnant energy has completely cleared up.

The weather is starting to cool down, and a new wardrobe may be in the cards as you finish off the month. I welcome you to the harvest season, Courageous Capricorn, with love.

Abstract Aquarius

Theme song: “Connect,” Drake
Mantra: Make the right connections.

Awesome Abstract Aquarius, how did August roll out for you? It may have been intriguing, or you may have had your boat rocked. September is going to be one of those binding months that will pull some of the month of August and some of the month of October together into now. The dominant house for you right now is the seventh, of partnerships and relationships. You don’t want to go in blindsided while linking up with particular individuals for business or pleasure. Check out that corporation that you are interested in to make sure their track record is clean in terms of their values. Make sure your new boo proves to be genuine enough to make it official. Just peep out the little things, and you will know.

You are almost ready to release everything that you have been holding on to due to the right timing of the stars. Confused Mercury has finally gotten right and gone direct on the fifth, but let all of its energy clear out for a week before you make big moves. With those energies in play, you’ll have many thoughts and feeling to reflect on before you act.

Spring into motion on the nineteenth, when the magnificent new moon will support all of the right connections, Abstract Aquarius. The new moon will be in the sign of vigilant Virgo, which will help you create a practical day-to-day schedule with the help of all of your new relationships. September will be breezy for you, Abstract Aquarius, so enjoy it well.

Passionate Pisces

Theme song: “Free,” Deniece Williams
Mantra: Be free.

How is my pretty Passionate Pisces doing this month, and what types of changes did August show you within the eclipse and the retrograde? September will take you deeper into those changes, but in a good way. Any work issues, difficulty in trying to create a daily schedule for self-betterment, or health concerns that you may have been dealing with will finally work out in your favor because your sixth house will help express those things well. In the middle of the month, you will finally be free of any added stress from the residuals of Mercury’s recent retrograde.

The energies are ripe for you to be free from the things that you don’t want around this month, so, to keep your slate clean, don’t finalize anything new until around the twelfth of the month in order to let Mercury right itself fully.  If you really want to be on the safe side, I would suggest you wait until the nineteenth to execute your plans, because all of the ridiculous retrograde energies will have cleared. This day will also bring in a notable new moon that will be auspicious for beginnings of all kinds. Have a beautiful September!

Ambitious Aries

Theme song: “Deeper,” THEESatisfaction
Mantra: Dig deeper.

What’s up, my Martian babies? How did August turn out for you? I know you guys may have been met with surprises that you would’ve never guessed, and some of those energies are still in effect. The universe has a sense of humor, and it definitely works on your behalf, whether you believe it or not.

Ambitious Aries, push deeper into what you really want for yourself, because the rest of the year (with the exception of December) is poised to benefit all of your dreams. Lady Luna will become full on the fifth of September and Mindful Mercury will become direct, but give it a week or two before you take action. Just because Mercury will be direct doesn’t mean that it is fully back up to post-retrograde speed yet, so be mindful of your timeframes.

Your sixth house of health, pets, and daily work patterns is on point for you this month, Ambitious Aries. If you have been up on your health by changing your diet and adding in some exercise, then good for you; however, if you still don’t feel completely good-as-new, then you might have to dig a little deeper. Have some tests done, like blood work and imaging. You might make a transition to a new job this month, or take on more clients, if you are self-employed. This month would also be a good time to add a new little family member to the home by way of a pet.

The New Moon will fall on September 19, with perfect timing to not interfere with Mercury’s sluggishness, so sow those super seeds and let everything grow from this month through November freely. Enjoy getting ready for the fall, Ambitious Aries, and have a deep September.

Tenacious Taurus

Theme song: “Think About It,” Stevie Nicks
Mantra: Think about it.

How did August treat my laid-back, down-to-earth Tenacious Taurus? I know a lot of unexpected changes took place, given all of the galactic energy from the eclipse and mighty Mercury in retrograde. The latter is coming to an end, as I will explain in a second, but that’s a process—give Mercury enough time to get itself right before you take action.

This month has Virgo all up in your fifth house of entertainment, creativity, sports, fun and games, and romance. It’s time to get creative about how you want your day-to-day to go in terms of work, play, and/or putting yourself out into the dating scene. Think about how you want to improve all aspects of living.

Confusing Mercury will go direct on the fifth of the month, and Silver Sister Moon will become full. The full moon will bring about high emotions, since it’s in the illusionary realm of Pisces, which is coupled with the end of the retrograde’s frequencies. Think about what the universe is trying to show you, but don’t really act on anything until the middle of the month once the retrograde energy has diminished.

September 19 is clear and free for you to get some things moving in the form of plans or goals as the New Moon will welcome newness of all kinds. Think about your plans in the order of importance, aka what is necessary for you to start now, and what can wait until next month or next year. September is going to be one of those assisting months that will help you actualize and see a lot of your plans through, so use the energies of the month correctly and make it a fantastic 30 days. XOXOXOXOX!

Galactic Gemini

Theme song: “Smile,” Vince Staples
Mantra: Just smile.

I foresee that September will make you smile. All of the great visions that you saw for yourself in August will manifest more and more this month. Your fourth house of family and home is beaming brightly, my Galactic Gemini gangsters. You might move into that new home this month, or lingering family matters will be recycled into love.

August may have hit you with some unforeseen things that are continuing throughout September, especially given the Mercury retrograde. After the marbled moon became full on the fifth of the month, Mercury is direct, but give it about a week to get right. Mind-twisting Mercury is still emitting some confusion, so just be clear and sure about any permanent changes, Galactic Gemini. The new moon will have you showing off those pearly whites on the nineteenth as you write out, think about, or simply imagine the new seeds you’ll sow this month. Make it good, y’all! I am smiling about how satisfied you will be by the time the harvest season hits in October, so enjoy this super September, Galactic Gemini.

Caring Cancer

Theme song: “Good as Hell,” Lizzo
Mantra: Looking good!

Caring Cancer, your third house of communication, siblings, and cousins is the center of attention this month. You will build on your expressive communication style toward everyone that you converse with, with a deeper focus on your siblings and cousins. You are creating a standard for how these individuals will perceive you from now on, and it is looking good.

The fullness of the moon commenced on the fifth, along with Mercury going direct. Don’t let the emotions that come with that run astray—focus what is real; there’s no time for getting caught up in illusions of any kind. Give melodramatic Mercury about a week from this date to fully straighten up and fly right before you push forward on any big plans.

Start the next lunar cycle off in style by putting new goals into the universe on the nineteenth of the month, when Sister Moon is brand-new. This will assist you properly into next month’s harvest season, when you will collect on your wants and needs. I know August may still have you shook, given all of the unexpected surprises that came with it, but September will stream in that good-looking energy to help you complete that cycle. Live it well and with love, my Caring Cancer.

Lustrous Leo

Theme song: “On Top,” Hoops
Mantra: Stay on top.

Greetings, lovely Lustrous Leo. September has your second house of material things and money looking like some bling on some teeth, because you will be on top of all the signs when it comes to that money, honey! I’ll need you to be on your A game this month when it comes to positioning yourself around making your daily money. Make it flow, because the universe has your back and your front.

The fifth of September started your harvest season early, thanks to the fruitful full moon carrying mind-altering Mercury forward to clear up its retrograde energy. Try to give the poor planet a week or so to make forward motion before you make any major decisions, and you’ll be maneuvering correctly through the month.

The nineteenth welcomes all of your plans and goals due to the nifty new moon in Virgo. This will help you with the daily structuring of accomplishing all of your plans and goals. Discipline yourself and keep good habits, and you will be working smarter, not harder, Lustrous Leo.

September is going to be one of those head-bobbing months that will have you feeling good all the way through. Enjoy it—you deserve it!

Shamir is Shamir and remains Shamir through and through, no matter what the universe puts him through. You may know the singularly named artist (think—Madonna or Cher) from his 2015 debut hit record Rachet, beloved by NPR listeners and club kids alike. After quickly rising to underground fame with his Northtown EP in 2014, the DIY pop star made a sonic splash with Rachet’s lead single “On The Regular,” a poppy banger that had extensive commercial usage. But how to follow all that up? Shamir, who came from the dusty dunes of Las Vegas, to Brooklyn’s Silent Barn, to the Philly indie scene (and all over the world in between), wanted to go back to what had inspired him from the beginning. Outsider music, country & punk. Raw and vulnerable tunes, stripped down to their emotional core. 2017’s Revelations explored a new avenue of guitar driven hooky indie rock and was widely critically praised in the US and overseas.

Shamir’s most recent releases, the brilliant Room 7” on Father/Daughter, and his self-released limited edition album, Resolution, are pinnacles in the catalog of the increasingly fascinating artist’s career. Room and its b-side Caballero celebrate Shamir’s love of country music, while Resolution is a deeply introspective look into the fabric of society and the artists’ own mind.  With these two releases he has refined his craft exponentially and done so in less than six months from the release of Revelations.
