William Wheeler

William Wheeler is a screenwriter who wrote the screenplay for Mira Nair’s current release Queen of Katwe, the true story of a young girl from the rural streets of Uganda whose life rapidly changes when she is introduced to the game of chess. Wheeler, who has the ability to capture the true essence of the stories he is telling, previously wrote the screenplays for The Reluctant Fundamentalist (also directed by Nair), The Hoax and The Prime Gig. Most recently, William adapted Lego: Ninjago as an animated film for Warner Animation Group, set to be released in 2017.
