Rodrigo Reyes

Rodrigo Reyes’ latest film, 499, a bold and provocative exploration of the contemporary legacies of colonialism marking the 500th anniversary of the conquest of Mexico, is out August 20 through Cinema Guild. Reyes, who was born in Mexico City, previously directed the documentary short The 12th of December (2009), the documentary feature 99 Years After the Mexican Revolution (2010), the experimental film Memories of the Future (2011), and Purgatorio: A Journey Into the Heart of the Border (2013). In 2013 he was named one of Filmmaker magazine’s 25 New Faces of Independent Film.
