Ritesh Batra

Ritesh Batra is a writer-director at poeticlicense motion pictures. He was born and raised in Mumbai. He made his feature debut with the romantic drama The Lunchbox, which debuted at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival, went on to play at Telluride, Toronto and Sundance, and was released theatrically by Sony Pictures Classics. An alumnus of the Sundance Screenwriters and Directors Lab, Batra is currently working on an adaptation of Julian Barnes’ Booker Prize-winning novel The Sense of an Ending, starring Jim Broadbent.
