Gig Economy: Karen Haglof

Karen Haglof was a part of the legendary Minneapolis indie rock scene that gave the world The Replacements, immersed herself in NYC’s avant-rock scene as a member of Rhys Chatham’s guitar orchestra, then enrolled in medical school and became an oncologist specializing in hematology. In the 21st century, she picked up her guitar again and began writing and recording aided by erstwhile bandmate Steve Almaas (Suicide Commandos, Beat Rodeo). Her latest release is the Palomino Steady Rocking EP, which precedes a full length album, Tobiano.
