John Patrick Shanley’s latest film as writer-director, Wild Mountain Thyme starring Emily Blunt, Jamie Dornan, Jon Hamm and Christopher Walken, is out now through Bleecker Street Films. Shanley won both a WGA Award and an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for Moonstruck and received both the Tony Award and the Pulitzer Prize for his play Doubt. In the arena of screenwriting, he has nine films to his credit, most recently the adaptation of Doubt starring Meryl Streep, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Amy Adams and Viola Davis. The film, which Shanley also directed, was nominated for five Academy Awards, including Best Adapted Screenplay. His other film credits include Five Corners (Special Jury Prize, Barcelona Film Festival), Alive and Joe Versus the Volcano (which he also directed).
