Sarah Jayne Brown is a Black-Jewish writer-director based in Los Angeles whose work explores the intersections of desire, identity, and emotional survival. Her storytelling blends dark humor, surrealism, and psychological depth, often centering messy, magnetic women who live on the edge of their own undoing. She is currently spearheading an <a href="https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/unicorn-s-dilemma/x/38532378" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Indiegogo</a> campaign for her upcoming short, Unicorn’s Dilemma, which is based on lived experience and serves as a proof of concept for a feature-length project about the dangerous contradictions inside “liberated” relationships. Sarah’s background in independent film, and trauma recovery deeply informs her perspective as a filmmaker. She is especially interested in crafting stories that speak to underrepresented Black, queer and bi+ women, survivors and anyone navigating the blurred boundaries between fantasy and reality. Throuples, Trauma and Taboos: Healing Through Art with My Debut Feature

Maya Cozier’s debut feature, <a href="http://www.samuelgoldwynfilms.com/she-paradise/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">She Paradise</a>, is out now through Samuel Goldwyn Films. Cozier was raised by artist parents — Irenée Shaw and Christopher Cozier — in the Caribbean twin islands of Trinidad and Tobago. She gained years of experience working as a dancer/choreographer for music videos and television shows (on her own and as part of a champion hip-hop crew that represented the island at the World Hip-Hop Dance Championships). At age 18, Maya had her first international gig when Nicki Minaj flew to Trinidad with Hype Williams to direct the “Pound the Alarm” music video. It was on set as a background model that she became fascinated with the process of filmmaking. After being awarded a national academic scholarship, she enrolled at the School of Visual Arts in New York City, to pursue a degree in film. Her first short film was about a childhood friend, Shan, a limbo dancer, touring the United States with a Circus. Her thesis film, Short Drop, a story in which a recently widowed retiree’s car is mistaken for an illegal taxi bringing together unlikely individuals in Port of Spain, won the NYWIFT student award and has shown at over 20 film festivals worldwide winning best Caribbean short film at Curacao film festival and best short film at Trinidad and Tobago Film Festival.

Linas Phillips is a director, actor, teacher, and spiritual seeker. He is currently crowdfunding his latest feature, <a href="https://seedandspark.com/fund/taketwo#story" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Take Two</a>, on Seed&amp;Spark. In 2006, he walked 1,200 miles to meet Werner Herzog, documented in his first film, Walking to Werner. His other films include Bass Ackwards (which premiered at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival) and Rainbow Time (2016). As an actor, Phillips has appeared in Twin Peaks, Eastbound &amp; Down, Togetherness, and Manson Family Vacation. As the &#8220;screenplay doula,&#8221; Phillips teaches screenwriting by applying techniques drawn from notable spiritual teachers.
