Laurie Simmons

Laurie Simmons is an internationally recognized artist. Her work is included in the collections of the Brooklyn Museum, the Museum of Modern Art, the Guggenheim Museum and the Whitney Museum, among others. In 2006, she wrote and directed a short film, The Music of Regret, starring Meryl Streep and the Alvin Ailey Dancers with cinematography by Ed Lachman. She will have a retrospective originating at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth in 2018. Her first feature film, My Art, which premiered at the 73rd Venice International Film Festival and had its North American premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2017, is playing in select theaters through Film Movement from January 12.
